A new study suggests that drinking milk could put you at a higher risk of getting Parkinson's disease, WPTV reports.

The study was published in the journal Neurology. The original goal of the study was to find patterns of aging. 

The study found a link between contaminants that are present in milk and the development of Parkinson's disease.

However, the study may not be alarming to the daily consumers of the dairy product as the research specifically focused on Japanese-American men who were living in Hawaii during the '80s.  

So, it may be possible that the milk that the men consumed may have contained pesticides from pineapples. The pesticide that might have contaminated the milk is not in use now. The pesticide was in use during the 80's in Hawaii and used for killing pests present in the pineapple crop. 

Pineapple debris is a common feed for cows in Hawaii. Therefore, the pesticides could have travelled to the milk through the pineapple debris fed to the cows.

The study showed that the brains of men who drank more than two glasses of milk daily had their nerves in the area that was most affected by Parkinson's disease further compromised than the nerves of those who drank less milk.
