Game developer Sledgehammer Games is proud to announce that "Call of Duty: WWII" will be based on missions from World War II. One of the missions in particular is the largest aerial bombardment operation in history.

Operation Cobra To Be Included

Sledgehammer Games CEO Glen Schofield discussed some of the missions that players can expect in "Call of Duty: WWII" together with co-founder Michael Condrey. One of those missions is the biggest missions in World War III history, which was Operation Cobra. It took place seven weeks after the invasion at Normandy on July 25, 1944, Dual Shockers reported.

Operation Cobra was designed to allow the Allied troops to escape Germany. This became the largest aerial bombardment mission in history and no other mission has topped it yet. United States used 3,000 aircraft, which were dropping bombs on the Nazi troops.

Operation Cobra First Time Included In Gaming History

The inclusion of Operation Cobra in a video game will be its first time in gaming history. This time around, players will be able to experience what it was like during that mission. Aside from this big mission, there are also other historical missions included like the Normandy Beach invasion, and the Battle of the Bulge and Paris.

Unlimited Sprint Not Coming Back

In other "Call of Duty: WWII" related news, the video game will not have the usual feature that fans are accustomed to use in the game series, which is unlimited sprint. Sledgehammer Games said that they will take a different approach with their latest game title this time around, VG247 reported.

While there is no confirmation that unlimited sprint will not be available on a specific platform, Condrey might be saying that it will not be featured in multiplayer. This could also mean that a specialized perk will enable this feature in the mode, but that would mean that it will replace a perk slot for it.
