Xiaomi Mi 6 India Release Date: Boring Design with GPU Scores Higher than iPhone 7 [VIDEO]

By

Xiaomi introduced Mi 6 with loads of cutting-edge features including dual-lens camera and a whopping 6GB of RAM. The Chinese phone maker claims its premium flagship as an iPhone 7 rival with the GPU scoring higher than Apple's device.

Fans' hopes are crashed when Xiaomi reveals Mi 6 with bezels. Xiaomi Mi 6 turns out to sport a conventional looking smartphone with metal frame and nothing new. As far as the design is concerned, Xiaomi is probably trying to differentiate the iteration from the edge-less Mi Mix. Specs-wise, it has a 5.15-inch display, 1080p, and no headphone jack, just like the current iPhone.

Xiaomi Mi 6 is equipped with 3,350 mAh battery capacity and a massive 6GB RAM on board. The phone comes in two storage models, 64 GB and 128 GB. Its camera packs 12MP dual-lens module with wide-angle lens approach, Slashgear reported.

The rear-camera is particularly impressive with 4-axis OIS for steady shots. Moreover, it has 10x zoom ability and 2x lossless lens. The Mi 5 successor offers USB type C for charging and the chassis is water and dustproof. Xiaomi Mi 6 is currently available in three colors, black, blue and white but the company is reportedly preparing to launch a silver variant in the near future.

Fans who purchase the Exclusive Edition will get an added value, that is a ceramic back panel and 18K gold rims. Xiaomi Mi 6 will go on sale on April 28 and the phone starts from $365. To put into perspective, Samsung offers Galaxy S8 at $720. That means, Xiaomi's handset is half the price of Samsung's but bringing almost the same cutting-edge features, BusinessInsider reported.

There is no further detail on which countries outside China the phone is heading to, but Xiaomi India took Twitter to announce the official unveiling and thus, Indian fans could be the first in line to order the Mi 6 once it is available. Judging from the previous pattern, Xiaomi Mi 6 is highly likely to arrive one month after China launch.
