Apple will release the new iPad Pro 2 this year. According to reports, the Cupertino company might equip the tablet with laptop-specs, such as A10x chip and bigger RAM for the base model. The new iPad Pro will also be water-resistant.

iPad users do not update their tablets every year. According to a poll conducted by a media outlet, only 6 percent respondents bought a new iPad every year whilst the rest did not find it necessary to make an annual upgrade.

This year, however, Apple reportedly prepares a major update for iPad Pro lineup. The iPad Pro 2 will house a set of powerful hardware including the A10x processing chip for a faster tablet performance. There are even reports that tout iPad Pro 2 as a MacBook Air replacement.

Specs-wise, the iPad Pro 2 will likely offer more punch that will make it compatible to handle heavy task. A few reputable media outlets have even dubbed the next iPad tablet to replace hybrid tablet such as Lenovo Yoga series, Surface Book and alike, Telegiz reported.

The magnitude specs include the Touch Bar feature and super-thin bezels. Apple is said to prepare the iPad Pro 2 for creative individuals that need faster rate to complete their tasks. The refreshed Apple Pencil will be integrated with more apps and the navigation made smoother will enhance user experience much like what a laptop can deliver.

The rumor roundup suggests that Apple might equip the iPad Pro 2 with water resistant feature. As a comparison, Apple is quite falling behind the competition when it comes to IP68 certification but the Cupertino giant will reportedly be the first to omit the headphone jack from a flagship tablet. Additionally, Apple is said to release a mini Pro model this year to complement the two bigger tablets.  

Apple might also incorporate new and exciting features but a bigger RAM may not be an option since the current 12.9-inch iPad Pro already sports 4 gigs. It is highly likely that Apple will equip the iPad Pro 2 with the same RAM offering and offer bigger internal memory for the base model.

The iPad Pro 2 still has no official launch date but Apple is expected to introduce the 10.5-inch and the 12.9-inch tablets sometime in May or June this year, Donklephant reported.
