While the tech world is debating on whether Apple will kill off the MacBook Air and iPad Air lineups, the gadget hunters who have been eyeing on the laptop can opt for a less expensive offering.

MacBook Air Huge Price Cut Hints at New Model Launching Soon

The 13-inch MacBook Air gets a huge price cut as it is now just $799 at Best Buy. It is a $200 off from the original price in Apple store. The ultraportable device has 8GB RAM on board coupled with 128GB memory. Meanwhile, Newegg is giving $180 discounts for the 256GB model. With just $1,019 - it is currently the cheapest retailer to offer MacBook Air, LaptopMag reported.

iPad Air Update, Release Date

The huge price drop is not only good news for the laptop hunters but it could also signify that Apple is going to launch an entry-level MacBook this year. Based on the iPad yearly pattern, the Cupertino-based giant just released the new iPad 2017 to replace its iPad Air variant. It is safe to assume that Apple will do the same for its MacBook lineup, Korea Portal reported.

It could be the right time for Apple to offer affordable models for tablet and laptop series as the strategic move can reach wider consumers. MacBook Air fans have been waiting for an update that was never coming in 2016. This year, the faithfuls still hope to see a refresh at Apple's Spring event.

iPad Air fans are also fearing of any bad news coming from Apple campus. There have been reports that suggest the tablet will no longer be updated. The iPad Air 2 still contains A8 chip and it is relatively slower than the new iPad 2017. Tim Cook and his execs remain mum on any rumors nor do they confirm whether a new Air tablet is coming or not.
