Nexus 6P Rises Once Again as Google Pixel Continues to Struggle From Global Popularity [VIDEO]

Latest details about Nexus 6P suggests the possible revival of the Nexus brand in the days to come. As Android O preview being tested on the device, fans believe that the best is yet to come for Nexus 6P while Pixel phones are still expected to struggle from global popularity issue.

Nexus 6P is Tested for Android O

There are several reasons to believe why Google is not retiring Nexus 6P soon. The latest updates entail the Android O preview on the phone were few changes like new settings menu, sleeker appearance, Sleep Menu and new interface on the battery page are added, PC-Tablet reported.

In relation to the rolling out of Android O preview to Nexus 6P, Nexus and Pixel devices have reportedly migrated to SDCardFS of the new mobile operating system.  As part of the changes made under-the-hood, the in-kernel FUSE is now being replaced with SDCardFS.

The change in made in the in-kernel would mean reduce I/O overhead on external storage's operations performance, double caching elimination from the page cache and odd PC file transfer errors elimination. This change is highly considered by tech experts a major leap as it is not seen in the Nougat before.

Google Pixel Phones Global Popularity Issues

No matter how much Google puts Pixel phone in the limelight as being the only "made by Google" hardware so far, netizens keep on coming back to the lovable Nexus 6P. For this reason, reports suggest that the premium Google smartphones are struggling from global popularity issues.

On the other hand, other issues that contribute to Google Pixel phones lower sales return in the higher costs which start at $650 for the based-models. In addition, the audio issues of the devices also made it to the list of reasons; however, Google points out that it's not a hardware problem but software, BGR reported.

Regardless of where Google wants to take the smartphone battle, the search giant promises to make great smartphones in the future. Whether or not it's Nexus 6P or Google Pixel phone successor, what Google's trying to achieve is to make a significant mark in the smartphone landscape.
