Surface Pro 5 Vs. iPad Pro 2: The Battle Between Microsoft Cannonlake Tablet and Bezel-less iPad Pro 2017

By

With the Surface Pro, Microsoft has consistently made an update from the predecessors. On the other hand, the iPad Pro now gets even more confusing with the launch of new iPad 2017.

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 to feature Cannonlake chip

There have been a few speculative reports that mention Cannonlake chip instead of the Kaby Lake processor for the upcoming Surface Pro hybrid. Trusted Reviews said that the chip will bring the much-anticipated upgrades including battery and performance. Cannonlake uses 10nm process and the architecture will debut in 2H 2017.

The current Surface Pro doesn't feature a USB type C port, thus, fans can expect the Surface Pro 5 to have the component on board. The Surface Pen will get a revamp with rechargeable and replaceable battery features.

What Apple is trying to do with the iPad Pro 2 this year

It looks like Apple will take the iPad Pro 2017 to a new level, new segment and new price. Ming Chi Kuo has stated that the 10.5-inch exclusive design with ultra-thin bezels is aimed at educational sector. However, judging from the leaks and tips, the 10.5-inch device seems to be just another premium iPad tablet with Pro features for artists and professionals.

The faithful will be able to find out once Apple rolls out the two iPad Pro 2 modles, the 10.5-inch and the 12.9-inch units in the coming months.

Apple reportedly enhances the iPad Pro 2 with smoother navigation system and an unparalleled stylus as Apple Pencil gets a magnetic feature and wider app-integration, Bloomberg reported.

It will be interesting to see both flagship devices coming out in the same year with a lot of improvements worth to check out. However, the tech crowds should be able to lay their hands on the iPad Pro 2 as it's reportedly debuted in June, way ahead of the Surface Pro 5.
