"Rocket League's" free update was recently released by Psyonix to introduce a new mode. Season 3 of competitive play has now ended.

Dropshot mode

"Rocket League" recently got a new free update for all platforms and it has introduced a new feature called the Dropshot mode that basically reinvents the game, according to its official website. This is its latest non-traditional mode, which followed the Hoops that felt like basketball, and the Rumble that gave the players some superpowers. There is also another mode that allows them to play with a hockey puck instead of a ball, and the physics are changing accordingly.

Dropshot mode gameplay

In Dropshot mode, matches will take place in a hexagonal arena that is divided down the middle and has a grid of smaller hexagons. There will be no fixed goals or scoring areas this time around, but players will have the break through the floor on their opponents' half of the field by knocking the ball downward on them.

New update, new contents

The new update also introduced new contents for "Rocket League," but it also removed one feature. The Core 707 arena is now available when playing the Dropshot mode, and the night version of Mannfield is also available in all playlists. The Neo Tokyo arena has been removed from Casual and Competitive playlists this time around, but in a future update, it will return to online play with a standard layout.

In another post on the official website of the video game, there will be some hidden Easter surprises as post-match drops for the first time. They will be able to get Easter-themed items like the Easter Egg Antenna, Easter Basket Topper, and the Bunny Ears Topper.

Third competitive season ends

Pysonix has also confirmed that "Rocket League's" third competitive season has ended recently. Titles and items will be awarded to the players who have the highest rank achieved during the season. Season 4 will bring a new set of Skill Rankings to give them more clear divisions between skill levels.
