'Bates Motel' Season 5 EP Reveals Rihanna's Marion Crane Shower Scene Details, Talks Character's Role

Rihanna seems to be an in-demand star nowadays. Aside from her stint in Sandra Bullock's all-star female cast in "Ocean's Eight", the singer, actress is now on a roll to be latest Marion Crane in "Bates Motel" season 5.

According to reports, "Bates Motel" season 5 executive producer Kerry Ehrin talks Rihanna's role in the last and final chapter of A&E's longtime running horror drama. Marion Crane, who was first portrayed by Janet Leigh in David Hitchcock's "Psycho" film, will once again appear on screen, however, rumor has it that her death might not be the same as the famous shower scene in the movie. Here is what the showrunner revealed.

Based on Ehrin's interview with Entertainment Weekly, the 56-year-old showrunner teases on what should fans watch out for in the final season. She even gives some hints about Marion Crane's fate in "Bates Mote"l season 5.

As we all know, the TV series is a prequel to the "Psycho" film series. In the previous reports, both Ehrin and Carlton Cuse revealed that "Bates Motel" season 5 will somewhat some events that happened in the film. Though they did not reveal what are those scenes they are talking about, one story arc that they tapped to be part of the last season is Marion Crane's famous shower scene.

Rihanna is set to play the famous fictional character, however, the catch is, Ehrin refuses to reveal if she will meet the same fate as the character in the film. What is known so far is "Bates Motel" season 5 pulled Psycho into the series.

"Is there a shower scene? All I can tell you is that we pulled "Psycho" into "Bates Motel", not vice-versa. That was always the goal and the fun of it. You will have to watch and find out!" says Ehrin.

Though it is not clear whether Rihanna's Marion Crane will die brutally in the shower or not in "Bates Motel" season 5, Ehrin noted that they wanted to make a more contemporary path with the TV character.

"It was very 
 much our goal to show you what's going on in her head to give 
her more complexity," Ehrin revealed.

'Bates Motel' Season 5 Episode Guide

As for the upcoming 10-part episodes of "Bates Motel" season 5, A&E (via TV Maze) has released the titles of each remaining chapters of the series. Episode 1 is entitled as "Dark Paradise", episode 2 is "The Convergence Of The Twain", episode 3 is "A Rarely Peaceful Motel", episode 4 is "Marion"
episode 5 is "You Should Have Stuck to the Truth", episode 8 is "Brightest Star of My Life", episode 9 is "Create Your Own Identity" and the finale is entitled as "You Could Say I'm a Psycho". As for episodes 6 and 7, titles are yet to be released.

"Bates Motel" season 5 airs on Feb. 20 and ends on April 24.
