PlayStation VR Game Roundup: Batman, Driveclub, And More; PS VR Better Than Oculus Rift And HTC Vive? [VIDEO]

By

As PlayStation VR launches on October 13 alongside a colossal list of new games like "Batman: Arkham VR," racing video game "Driveclub VR," it started the next chapter in gaming history. PS VR empowers video gamers to experience new worlds like never before.

Due to the massive collection of new game releases this week, PlayStation blog is taking a slightly different approach to their post. The streamlined list of new PlayStation games includes online game "Eve: Valkyrie," "Here They Lie," PlayStation VR Worlds (five unique PS VR experiences), "Rez Infinite," and "Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration."

"Batman: Arkham" VR immerses a player in the Dark Knight's Universe and redefines what it means to be the Caped Crusader. Gamers will experience Gotham City through the eyes of Batman. Players will utilize Batman's legendary gadgets in Virtual Reality to clear up a plot that threatens the lives of the hero's closest allies.

PlayStation VR Worlds seems like a poor attempt at creating a bundled collection that could stand competing with fully developed games. The PSVR itself comes with a demo disc, and three of the five games are rock-solid, according to Venture Beat.

However, as the next-generation gaming platforms are bringing along new virtual reality peripherals designed to enhance people's interaction with games. Sony's PlayStation VR headset compares with Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive, IGN reported.

Sony's PlayStation VR cost $399 with an additional $59.99 for the PlayStation Camera which is required, but Move controllers are not included. While Oculus Rift is available for $599 which includes Xbox One controller. HTC Vive is up for grabs at $799, and includes 2 controllers.

The display resolution of PlayStation VR is 960 x 1080 per eye, which is a single 1920x1080 screen. Oculus comes along with 1080 x 1200 per eye with two screens combined at 2160 x 1200. While HTC Vive offers a 1080 x 1200 per eye, and two screens mixed up at 2160 x 1200.
