Kanye West Joins Instagram And Instantly Amasses More Than 234,000 Followers, But Can He Surpass His Wife Kim Kardashian’s 82.7 Million Followers?

Kanye West fans, rejoice! The 39-year-old rapper has finally decided to grace us with his presence on Instagram.

It looks like Kanye West realized been active on just one social media platform isn't good enough for sharing his dark fantasies with his huge fanbase.

On Sunday, September 18, the "Fade" crooner debuted his account and within a short time, his Instagram account garnered over 234,000 followers, but he did not post any photos or videos right away. In fact, West had not even followed any other users, including his wife and "KUWTK" star, Kim Kardashian, according to E! News.

Until now, West had been active on Twitter. We first got a hint from the rapper about trying another medium back in March; however, he put a condition that no one will ask him or tell him what to share on Instagram as it would be his art.

At the time, he even dubbed his tweets as a form of contemporary art that was put in jeopardy by people trying to tell him what to tweet and what not to. Now that West is on Instagram, it remains to be seen if he will ever surpass Kim Kardashian's remarkable 82.7 million followers, HuffingtonPost reported.

Kim has remained tight lipped about her husband's debut on Instagram, probably because he isn't even following her yet? Whatever may be the reason, Kim and Kanye are definitely taking social media domination to a whole new level.

That being said, it was earlier reported that Kanye had gotten rid of his phone since it gets in the way of his creativity. If these reports are anything to go by, it will quite interesting to see how he will be posting his pictures. His wife, Kim, on the other hand, often posts selfies on the popular picture sharing app.

Much to his chagrin, posers have pretended to be Kanye West on Instagram for quite a long time, but Kanye often attempted to set the record straight, like when he tweeted in 2013 clarifying that he does not have an Instagram.
