iPhone 7 Specs, Release News: Why Upcoming Device More Likely To Be Waterproof?

By

It looks like Apple is planning to come up with iPhone 7 waterproof technology that can make underwater photos crystal clear. This will definitely be a good news for scuba-divers.

iPhone 7 rumor has it that the company secured a patent on a system that could color-balance underwater photos. The patent did not reveal how this could be made possible, but it did say that the software will be mobile-friendly mentioning iPhones and iPads, Yahoo reported.

No Apple device has been branded as waterproof yet, although there are water-proof cases manufactured by third-party companies. The rumors could reportedly be made true by the latest leaked photos that show the iPhone 7 is missing a headphone jack. Reportedly, the orifice is known to be susceptible to water.

Avid fans of Apple products took notice of the absence of the headphone jack and were taken aback by the looks of it. The headphone jack is analog technology, whereas the alternative, which is the Lightning Cable, is digital, Independent reported.

iPhone 7 with lightning cable could be an advantage if Apple implements an embedded software in their handsets that could block pirated music from being played on the smartphone. The feature will be difficult using analog technology; hence the absence of the headphone jack.

Taking a look at what rival smartphone makers have done, they kept the headphone jack and secured IP68 certifications from the regulators. IP68 is the official waterproof rating. Interestingly, Samsung's three latest flagship models, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, the Samsung Galaxy S7, and the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge are all water-resistant, but have the classic headphones.

Although Apple has secured such patent, there is still no confirmation that it will be part of the upcoming iPhone 7, but it is certainly something to watch out for. The iPhone 7 is set to come out in September. Watch the iPhone 7 predicted features here.
