Modafinil Benefits: Smarter Drugs To Boost Brain Performance

Another alternative to boost brain performance is taking smart pill called Modafinil.

There are many ways to calm your brain and reduce stress. You could go to the gym for an hour of running as a study finds that exercising is effective in boosting cognitive ability. Practice healthy sleeping habits to refresh energy levels.

In the morning, if you feel sleepy and tired, you can take a cup of coffee and get the benefit of caffeine. Although you have made these suggestions, you may feel these are not enough. For those who want to add something to improve performance, they may consider taking a smart pill called Modafinil.

In a recent review published in the journal European Neuropsychopharmacology, it suggests that Modafinil, a Food and Drug Administration (FDA)--approved eugeroic, increases cortical catecholamine levels.  So meaning, it can actually improve memory, improve attention, learning, and other cognitive abilities, Tech Insider reported. However, in a review, it did not mention if Modafinil is a drug.

Modafinil is a drug prescribed for people who have sleep disorders, SMH reported. The benefits that people can get are boosting alertness, focus, and creativity.

Meanwhile, in Australia, students and adults, including, employees, are increasingly using smart drugs to boost their performance. As a matter of fact, there are misconceptions about this drug in this country. Professor Carl Hart quoted in a media outlet that Modafinil is not actually a drug, and even a smart drug, but it simply aids productivity.

Modafinil and other stimulants like ADD are often link and there are many claims about Modafinil and other stimulants like  ADD drug Adderall are misleading. Experts said that non-medical use of Adderall and other ADD medications might result into negative side effects.

A comprehensive 2015 review by neuroscience experts from Berkeley, Berlin and Oxford suggested that the drug "appears to consistently engender enhancement of attention, executive functions, and learning." It concluded that Modafinil has no harmful effect on mood and it might only cause minor side effects, which you can compare to your morning cup of coffee.
