MacBook Pro 2016 Will Oust The 3.5mm Headphone Jack?

By

While MacBook fans wait with bated breath for the launch of MacBook Pro 2016 which is slated to pack an array of awe-inspiring enhancements, recently-surfaced rumors indicate the MacBook Air 2016 will be released before the much-awaited MacBook Pro.

Apple is reportedly toiling to upgrade the device's overall user experience. The imminent MacBook Pro 2016 is rumored to boast an OLED right above its keyboard.

If rumors doing rounds are anything to go by, Apple will take the wraps off the MacBook Pro 2016 as well as the MacBook Air 2016 during the fourth quarter this year. Rumors are running rampant that the upcoming MacBook pro will be powered by SkyLake processor and retina display.

The Cupertino-based tech giant however has opted to remain mum and has neither confirmed nor denied the speculations.

Rumors hint that the MacBook Pro 2016 will get rid of the headphone jack and the iPad lineup will discard the 3.5-mm headphone jack as well, BGR reported.

However, this will not be the first time a smartphone manufacturer will do away with the headphone jack; Motorola has removed this small round connector that accepts the pin-shaped plug from a regular pair of headphones from the devices.

The looming MacBook Pro models will reportedly sport a new cosmetic appearance, besides adding a slew of new features.

Users will be able to unlock the laptop via Touch ID of an iPhone. In addition, the device will boast better graphics as it will reportedly pack Radeon RX 400 series graphics chips.

In the midst of these speculations doing rounds, eBay has discounted the price of the MacBook Pro 2015 with Retina display by $570. However, this discount is only for a limited time period.

The Retina MacBook Pro 2015 with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB internal storage is now up for grabs on eBay for $1,929.99, Yibada reported.

The MacBook Pro 2015 weighs 4.49 pounds and measures 14.13 x 9.73 x 0.71 inches.

In terms of features, it comes with a 15.4-inch screen with 2880 x 1800 pixels resolution. The MacBook Pro is geared with 16 GB RAM and is powered by an Intel Core i7 processor.

In addition to two USB 3.0 ports, the laptop comes with two Thunderbolt 2 ports:

1) SDXC card slot
2) HDMI port

The device sports two USB 3.0 ports and is available with an AMD Radeon R9 M370X GPU. It features an aluminium chassis and comes with black-bordered display.
