A recent study revealed that genes can influence the academic performance among students of up to 80 percent.
Students' academic performance is apparently heavily influenced by their genetic code, Taylor & Francis Group reported.
Many have taken this that there is little can be done to help those students who struggle in school, which implies that spending money on academic assistance is rather useless. But researchers still pointed out that one's genetic makeup is not the whole case.
As the study may suggest, that at the most is that genes can potentially influence one's academic performance of up to 80 percent, but a large part is still based on the environment of which the child is exposed to, specially during development years, as The Conversation reported.
Another study, which corresponds to the result of the recent study, stated an example of the degree of influence between genes, and the environment on the student's performance.
