Google Nexus Features Limited-Edition Jeff Koons Exhibition Live Case, His Cheapest Artwork Price Ever [VIDEO]

By

Google has collaborated with artist Jeff Koons to produce a series of Nexus phone cases featuring his recent sculptures. There are three limited edition cases featuring the "Gazing Ball" series, namely: Diana, Bust, and Mailbox. Each of the prized cases has the titular blue orb placed over the lens of the camera. Embedded at the case's white color, it accents the lens and make it the center of attraction. This idea is excellent for people who love taking group pictures because the emphasis on lens makes it easier to be found.

According to Android blog, the Koons collection is part of Google's Live Case line, which also includes custom-made wallpaper that is activated after cracking on the case. The cases may be paired with a live background, an exclusive video from Koons's first film project for New York City Ballet dancers Ashley Laracey and Troy Schumacher movements in Swan Lake.

Koons, who is best known for his shiny balloon dog sculptures, is one of today's most revered artists well criticized in several circles. New York Mag 2013 article has criticism on Koons' "Gazing Ball" when the series was about to debut. Some of that criticism has been around his work with tastelessness, commodified subjects which making a phone case appears to take part into that in chiefly good and bad sense, the blog added.

Regardless of your preference on what is 'artsy' these cases are surely visually striking. Each is numbered will only be available for a limited time. You can find it at the Google Store for only $40. The cases are customized for use with the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X.
