Accused of punching a woman at a bar last week, suspended Florida State quarterback De'Andre Johnson is now ordered to appear for a charge of misdemeanor battery.

According to ESPN, Willie Meggs, the State Attorney in Tallahassee, Fla., decided to file charged against Johnson after seeing footage of the incident captured by a security camera. Meggs' office filed the notice-to-appear warrant Tuesday, about a week after the alleged assault.

Though Florida State University would not confirm, head football coach Jimbo Fisher suspended Johnson indefinitely last Thursday, the day after the backup QB was accused of hitting the woman, ESPN reported.

The notice-to-appear warrant is the result of Johnson's charge being classified as a misdemeanor and only requires to appear before a sheriff's deputy. If, or when, he does so, he will not be subject to an arrest.

"The video is very telling," Meggs told ESPN. "She is going to be a good witness."

He said Johnson was at a bar trying to order a drink when the woman cut in front of him to do the same. The two apparently got into an argument and, when she raised her arms, he grabbed them and punched her in the face before leaving.

Johnson is an incoming freshman and was not expected to factor in to the Seminoles' starting quarterback competition between Sean Maguire, a junior, and Everett Golson, a senior who transferred from Notre Dame.
