Samsung has a wide selection of exciting devices, from the Galaxy S7 Active to the Galaxy Note 8, which are still set to roll out this year. However, the tech giant is reportedly launching a flip phone to the market in the coming weeks.

The South Korean tech company is gearing up to launch a new mobile device to the market in coming weeks, and it's not the Galaxy Note 8. If images spotted online hold merit, the well-known smartphone maker could be introducing a new flip phone to the handset universe very soon.

Samsung's new flip phone is known as the SM-G1650, which will come along with a 3.8-inch display with 800x480 pixel resolution, a quad-core processor, 2/3GB of RAM, either 16/32GB of internal storage and a 1950mAh battery. The flip phone is said to run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, News.Com.Au reported.

Nonetheless, Samsung's assumed flip phone will be available with several features that resembles a regular mobile device such as Samsung's very own Galaxy series. But, the upcoming unique phone's most dramatic change is said to be the arrangement of the physical buttons. The Home, Back and Recent buttons of Samsung's new flip phone have transferred above the navigation keys, which could pave a way for an email button as well as a dedicated camera, BGR reported.

Though the camera quality of Samsung's assumed flip phone isn't mentioned, the device is expected to have an 8MP rear shooter and a 5MP front snapper. The upcoming unique phone will reportedly have a retro and a lean metal design. It has been said that Samsung's upcoming mobile device will feature an improved widget that allows its users to view data usage.

All in all, Samsung's new flip phone will be available with fairly reasonable specs. Nevertheless, the demand for flip handsets is yet to be seen, but Samsung's move would be the latest example of tech giants trying to entice new customers in the increasingly smartphone world.
