The United States Men's National Soccer team (USMNT) has found itself in the same group as Ghana for the second time in the last three World Cup tournaments.

In 2010, it was Ghana that eliminated the U.S. in the round of 16, but the Americans did not make it out of the group stage in 2006, ending their brief run with a loss to the Ghanaians.

The U.S. has had its trouble against Ghana, but the team has undergone various changes and improvements under German soccer legend Jurgen Klinsmann.

In 2013, the USMNT took home its fifth CONCACAF Gold Cup title and their first since 2007. However, since making their first of 10 World Cup appearances since 1930, the best they have finished has been third. Ghana has only made the World Cup three times and has done as well as reaching the quarterfinals.

According to FIFA.com, the referee squad will be made up of three Swedish officials and one from Tahiti. The two teams will play the match in Estadio Das Unas, an arena in the city of Natal, which was built in 1972 and seats 38,958 people.

According to Weather.com, the two teams will benefit from playing a later game, as the temperature is expected to drop from mid-90s to upper-70s. The match is also expected to be played under clear conditions.

Germany kicked off Group G, unofficially dubbed the "group of death" by beating Portugal 4-0. If the U.S. wants to make it out of the group stage, they will need to start with a win over Ghana and hope Portugal continues to stumble through the rest of their schedule.

Much has been said of Klinsmann not expecting his team to win the World Cup, but the rest of the field would certainly start taking the team seriously if they make it out of Group G.
