Johnny Manziel has generated a lot of chatter since before he even declared for the draft, but now it is his quarterback coach who has given NFL teams something to think about.

What if the Cleveland Browns traded to the top spot to draft Manziel? Gary Whitfield Jr. told Cleveland.com that is exactly what the Browns should do. It is well known that the Houston Texans are split three ways on what to do with their first choice and one of their options is to trade down.

Whitfield said there is no better team to want to guarantee themselves a chance to take Manziel than the Browns.

"I certainly would,'' Whitfield told Cleveland.com from the NFL Scouting Combine. "Not only is he a ruthless competitor, which is on tape and people can see that, I think he's must-see T.V. He can hotwire a program to where the secretaries would come down the hallway high-fiving each other and all of a sudden the grounds crew is replaying whatever he just did."

Texans' head coach Bill O'Brien reportedly likes Blake Bortles, a tall, strong, athletic and more prototypical QB. Texans owner Bob McNair said he likes Manziel, but has also said he would take Jadeveon Clowney first overall, to create a formidable pass rush duo with JJ Watt.

The Browns have a wealth of defensive talent from high draft picks in recent years and now their young offense is blooming as well. A QB competition between Jason Campbell and Brandon Weeden cannot be too exciting for Browns personnel, so now should be ideal to take a passer.

The Browns also have an extra first-round draft choice from trading Trent Richardson to the Colts. As it stands, the Browns draft fourth behind the Texans, Rams and Jaguars. Both the Texans and Jaguars are believed to be interested in drafting Clowney or a QB, which could either be Manziel, Bortles or Teddy Bridgewater.

Whitfield, an Ohio native, also said he has been educating Manziel on the history of the Browns and especially their famous "Dawg Pound' fan section.

Manziel previously said the Texans would be mistaken for passing over him, but the Texas native then said he would be the QB to turn the Cleveland franchise around.

"I'm going to pour my heart out for the Dawg Pound and try to win a Super Bowl for Cleveland," Manziel previously told the Houston Chronicle. "I don't care if they've had 20 starting quarterbacks since 1999. I'm going to be the 21st and the guy that brought them the Super Bowl."
