Carl Bacon, director of the Ferguson Center, has apologized to Bama Students for Life through e-mail for removing anti-abortion poster following numerous complaints. The University officials said that it will allow the pro-life student group to once again display the trifold poster in a glass case on campus.

"Please accept my apology that your display was removed without your knowledge two days before your reserved time expired. You have two options available to you to complete your 30-day reservation," wrote Bacon.

"The same display case will be available for two days starting Feb. 22, or the case between the SGA office and the office of the Dean of Students is available this week for two days. Please let me know which option you would like to choose."

The pro-life student group expressed gratitude to the University for reconsidering their decision and supporting their First Amendment and free speech rights on campus.

The pro-life display aimed at commemorating the anniversary of Roe vs. Wade, featured images of aborted foetuses, women who have died during abortions, abortion doctors, and facts about abortion. Students belonging to the group said that they were allowed to exhibit the poster at the Center until Feb. 7, but it was taken off two days early.

A school administrator removed the anti-abortion poster as some students found the poster to be 'offensive.'

Cathy Andreen, director of media relations for the University of Alabama, told The Christian Post that the poster was removed due to confusion over the guidelines for the display case. The University certainly respects students' First Amendment rights.
