New reports have started circulating online claiming that the HTC company will soon roll out a new mid-range mobile device. The smartphone is codenamed Ocean Life, claims are being made that the handset will be a smaller version of the HTC U11 and it will carry its Edge Sense technology.

As the HTC U11 Android smartphone has been a success for the Taiwanese tech giant, it appears like the company may be wanting to capitalize on that momentum. Wherein, the tech giant is currently working on a new mid-range handset, dubbed as Ocean Life. The upcoming smartphone will be HTC U11's smaller version, and it will come along with many of the larger smartphone's specs and features into a smaller frame, Android And Me reported.

The information on the upcoming new device was shared by LlabTooFeR on Twitter. The moniker Ocean Life appears to be keeping with the tech company's internal marking convention for the U series. The U Play was known as the Ocean Smart, the Ultra was the Ocean Note, while the U11 was called simply as Ocean.

Nevertheless, HTC's upcoming Ocean Life smartphone is said to arrive with a 5.2-inch display with a full HD 1080p screen resolution. It's very likely that the company will still use an S-LCD panel for the new mid-range mobile device. Under the hood, the Ocean Life smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 660 processor, Phone Arena reported

Also, the HTC Ocean Life is said to be available with a Bluetooth 5.0, Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Sense 9.0 UI, 2,600 mAh battery, as well as HTC's USonic earphones. With USonic earphones' inclusion, it seems as though the upcoming smartphone won't arrive with the 3.5mm headphone jack, and will have a single USB Type-C port instead. The smartphone is expected to feature a 16MP camera on the back, and a 16MP front snapper.
