Microsoft unveiled its most versatile laptop, Surface Pro, which the tech giant claims the device offers faster performance, an improved design and longer battery life over the Surface Pro 4. The new Microsoft Surface Pro will be up for grabs on June 15 starting at $799, and an LTE version of the latest Surface Pro will also be available.

Microsoft claims its new Surface Pro is 20 percent faster compared to the Surface Pro 4. The tech giant is also claiming that the device will have 13.5 hours of battery life on a single charge, which is a 50 percent increase over its predecessor. That's also longer than the 12 hours of Apple's MacBook Air.

Nonetheless, as the latest refreshed Surface Pro starts at $799, the price is misleading because in using the new Surface Pro as a laptop, people will have to pay up to $159 for an optional keyboard cover. Without the Surface Pro's keyboard cover, users would be left with a tablet. Also, tech fans will have to shell out $99.99 extra if they want the newly-improved Surface Pen, USA Today reported.

In spite of that, the new Microsoft Surface Pro will be up for grabs in Core i5, Core i7, and Core m models. Like the Microsoft Surface Pro 4, the new Surface Pro offers USB 3.0 ports instead of USB-C connectivity, Laptop Mag reported.

Other subtle changes of the new Surface Pro include a new hinge design. Microsoft has adopted the same 165-degree angle of the Surface Studio for the Surface Pro, allowing the new device to lay nearly flat. The hinge of the new Surface Pro no longer snaps if the user pushes it too far, and the tech giant is confident that the hinge won't break even if the user will lean on it too much. Furthermore, the new Microsoft Surface Pro is also available with a Surface Dial support on the display.
