Following the success of Google's first Pixel smartphones, the search engine giant has confirmed to unleash the next-gen Pixel devices within this year. The Google Pixel 2 smartphones are said to come with a completely new design, which include an edge-to-edge display.

There were leaks claiming that Google is planning on rolling out not two, but three Pixel handsets this year. The Google Pixel 2 devices will be available with a completely new design along with an edge-to-edge display. The design of the Google Pixel 2 smartphones also include a dual cameras in the front and back.

The upcoming Google Pixel 2 smartphones are dubbed as Muskie, Walleye and Taimen. There are several specs surrounding the Taimen Pixel smartphone. Some reports suggest that the Taimen Pixel smartphone might be a tablet hybrid like the Google Pixel C. Nonetheless, it might not be the case since the tech giant uses NVIDIA Tegra chips for its tablet products, Forbes reported.

Google's next-gen Pixel 2 smartphone, Taimen, has been spotted on the benchmarking website Geekbench. As per the Geekbench listing, the Google Pixel 2 Taimen acquired a 1804 single-core score as well as a 6284 multi-core score. The Google Pixel 2 Taimen will feature the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor running at 1.9GHz, a 4GB of RAM and an Android O. Nevertheless, the next-gen Pixel 2 smartphones are expected to come with a bezel-less design and an IP68 rating that will make the devices dust and water proof, Value Walk reported.

As far as the price of the Google Pixel 2 is concerned, the base model is said to have a $699 price tag, while the XL variant of the Google Pixel 2 is expected to cost around $800. The tech company is highly likely to announce some details of the next-gen Pixel 2 smartphones at its Google I/O developer conference. The Google Pixel 2 smartphones are expected to get an October release date.
