Microsoft and US-based tech giant Dell EMC are making some big cloud partnership this week. The two tech giants have launched a new hybrid cloud platform offering for businesses that have hybrid clouds based on Microsoft Azure Stack. The two made the big cloud announcement this week.

The Massachusetts-based company Dell EMC this week introduced a new hybrid cloud platform that will meld Microsoft's Azure infrastructure-as-a-service with data centers and hybrid cloud deployments. The newly created Dell EMC Cloud for Microsoft Azure Stack will give companies a simple and faster way for implementing and sustaining a hybrid cloud based on Microsoft Azure Stack, the ZDnet reported.

The new cloud offerings will build on Dell EMC PowerEdge servers and Dell EMC Networking. Additionally, the new cloud platform will also integrate Dell EMC backup and encryption technologies. The aim of this newly created hybrid cloud platform is to automate infrastructure for companies planning to standardize on Microsoft Azure, and also to lower costs and increase productivity.

According to Microsoft, the Dell-EMC for Microsoft Azure Stack will leverage Dell EMC PowerEdge R730XD and PowerConnect switches. The new platform will deliver a consistent experience to companies who used Azure public and private cloud with Microsoft Azure Stack. The consistent experience gives customers what Dell EMC describes as a "true hybrid cloud offering.

As for the availability, the Dell-EMC for Microsoft Azure Stack will be made available in the second half of this year, pricing will be followed later. The Dell-EMC for Microsoft Azure will be preloaded on servers from Dell EMC, HPE, Lenovo, and Cisco.

Based in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, Dell EMC is a US-based multinational corporation that specializes in data storage, information security, virtualization, analytics, cloud computing and other products and services. It market customers includes large companies and small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) across various vertical markets.
