Apple has launched the fifth MacOS Sierra 10.12.5 beta to developers. The update still appears to focus on speed improvements and bug fixes.

The latest MacOS Sierra 10.12.5 update, with build number 16F71b, seems to be a relatively minor one, as the Cupertino based tech giant has neglected to release any notes. In comparison, the MacOS Sierra 10.12.4 actually comes along with several new features, which include the addition of Apple's Night Shift mode, which debuted to Macs for the first time, 9to5 Mac reported.

As for the fifth MacOS Sierra 10.12.5 beta, the new update seems to be created solely to bring several security upgrades and bug fixes ahead of the release of the highly anticipated new mac OS version, the MacOS 10.13. Meanwhile, Apple fans who want to try out the new MacOS 10.12.5 beta version can head over and join the Beta Software Program. For those who already have the previous public beta version, they can simply install the new update from Mac App Store.

Nonetheless, the best place to see what changes the update brings is by means of a patch notes. Unfortunately, the macOS Sierra 10.12.5 update does not say much other than bringing compatibility, improved security and stability for Macs. But, it should be worth noting that the tech company does not usually divulge everything, so there could be more features coming out once Apple will unleash the final version, Mac Rumors reported.

In spite of that, it has been said that the MacOS beta versions are not meant to be used daily. The unpolished version of the operating system still contains several bugs and glitches, and tech fans who depend on the systems on a daily basis are advised to wait for the final version. That being said, Apple is expected to unveil the MacOS 10.13 final version next month at the Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) 2017 event.
