Tech experts have suspected that there will be a MacBook Pro with 32GB RAM coming this year. However, based on the company's statement and the available updates, it is highly unlikely for the 2017 Mac to sport such a huge random access memory.

MacBook Pro 16GB RAM is Not Efficient

Albeit the thinner and lighter MacBook, Apple will not be bringing a larger random access memory to the MacBook Pro 2017. Phil Schiller's valid defense was that it is not necessary for the laptop to have such a big RAM up to 32GB.

Even when Apple does bring 32GB RAM in the configuration, fans may have to wait for Intel Cannonlake to arrive. According to KGI analyst Ming Chi Kuo, Intel Cannonlake offers LPDDR 4 RAM that consumes less power. On the other hand, the Kaby Lake U category does include the support but it is reported that only the U category offering the feature, BGR reported.

Intel Kaby Lake Processor Restrictions

In January, reports hinted at Kaby Lake-powered MacBook Pro 2017 as the 12-inch laptop will reportedly enter mass production in the second quarter. Kuo said that it is highly likely for the MacBook Pro 2017 to still use 16GB RAM configuration due to the hardware restrictions, MacRumors reported.

The iterative upgrades include increased graphics performance and reduced weight as the MacBook Pro 2017 gets thinner, sleeker, and faster.  People who are familiar with the matter explained how Apple expects sales growth with the new updates. Premium MacBook Pro 2017 will aim at creative professionals that need a speedy, functional laptop to finish tasks.

Additionally, Kuo is confident that many Apple users will want to upgrade as USB C port and Touch Bar seem to look attractive. Nonetheless, Apple evangelists can still have faith that a MacBook Pro 32GB will arrive one day.
