Just about all of the nation's coldest states have experienced serious snowfall this winter, most on multiple occasions and, for some schools, it was just another winter.

Last month, AccuWeather released a list of the 10 college campuses with the most snowfall on an annual basis. While some states could have several schools on this list, AccuWeather took the most well known school from the areas with the most average annual snowfall.

The Northeast U.S. and other part of the country are experiencing two-week stretch of constant snow and frigid temperatures. While students at several schools have had to battle the elements to get to class recently, students at these schools are used to snowfall by now.

Michigan Technological University, which topped the list, gets so much snow every year, the school holds contests for building snow structures. For these students, snow days pretty much do not happen.

10. University of Alaska, Fairbanks

Inches of snow per year: 62

With only a couple weeks for summer at the most, an Alaskan school needed to grace the list.

9. Cornell University

Inches of snow per year: 65

The only Ivy League school that made the list.

8. Western Michigan University

Inches of snow per year: 67

7. Southern New Hampshire University

Inches of snow per year: 69

6. University of Vermont

Inches of snow per year: 81

5. University of Minnesota, Duluth

Inches of snow per year: 86

4. University of Buffalo

Inches of snow per year: 94

3. University of Rochester

Inches of snow per year: 99

2. Syracuse University

Inches of snow per year: 124

Snow days are basically non-existent.

1. Michigan Technological University

Inches of snow per year: Just under 200

In the winter of 2000-2001, the campus was buried in 303 inches of snow. This school holds snow sculpture contests.
