This Christmas will be a real feast for Nintendo fans. Those who missed the chance to purchase the retro NES Classic console can now be happy as Nintendo will reportedly release SNES Classic this December.

Just in time for Christmas, Nintendo will launch the mini edition of SNES Classic according to a familiar source. This time, Nintendo is expected to double the supply in order to avoid any short supply. Experts previously thought that the discontinuation of NES Classic Edition was due to its increasing popularity that could actually threaten Nintendo Switch.

However, the latest rumor suggests the other way. SNES Classic Edition is expected to be more popular than NES Classic and even Switch. In term of hardware, the console is a better-equipped lineup, Eurogamer reported.

This is not purely speculation as the media outlet predicted Nintendo Switch accurately before and the publication claimed to learn the news from an internal source. The detail is still scarce at the moment and there is no info on which titles that will be included in the micro-console, but there have been rumors that "Secret Weapons" and "Obvious Pick" will be among them. If the rumor about SNES Classic Edition comes true, fans hope it will have a longer cable for the controller and a standard USB connection for the sake of user convenience, Nerdist reported.

Tech experts predict more units will be sold since Nintendo might have the same intention as it is with the NES Classic - to sell it as a limited edition product instead of permanent. The holiday season release date is unofficial but judging from last year launch, SNES Classic might be getting the same launching pattern.
