After the massive success of Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones, the search giant is now gearing up to launch its successors, the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. Google could unleash the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones around October 2017.

The highly anticipated Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL handsets have already started to trickle down in a steady stream, with the smartphones' specs and features being teased in leaks. The release date of Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL is among the most notable points. While the Google did not announce the specific date, tech experts are anticipating that Google would release the Pixel 2 sometime around October 2017, which is exactly one year since the first-gen flagship smartphones were unveiled to the public, Android Headlines reported.

Considering the statement of Google's SVP of Hardware, Rick Osterloh, the release date for the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL in October is indeed highly probable. Osterloh stated that the tech titan is setting up a yearly release cycle for the top-end smartphones. This statement could indicate that Google's flagship smartphones, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, would definitely hit the shelves this year.

Nonetheless, Google is reportedly in talks with the LG Multinational Electronics Company for an $880 million deal. LG will supply a large number of flexible OLED displays that will be utilized in the upcoming Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones, to give the devices a new and stylish look. It has been said that Google is investing a huge amount of money to ensure that the upcoming Pixel smartphones would not face any supply problems, Forbes reported.

In spite of that, the upcoming Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones will be quite powerful, as the devices will be available with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core SoC upon release. Nevertheless, there's a possibility that the tech giant would release a more affordable Pixel device this year, alongside the company's premium offerings.
