The season 3 of the Japanese fantasy TV series, "Tokyo Ghoul," has been delayed for quite a while, and recently surfaced reports point out that the show will be delayed even more. Recent reports claim that the Japanese animation studio, Pierrot, has prioritized the upcoming seasons of "My Hero Academia" and "One Punch Man."

If anticipations turn out to be true that the "Tokyo Ghoul" film rolls out before the TV series, fans should not expect the "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 to arrive this year. Also, Viz Media company made it known that "My Hero Academia" and "One Punch Man" anime series will be unleashed this year, but the company did not announce the release date of the "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3.

Considering the poor ratings about "Tokyo Ghoul" season 2, the season 3 might no longer see the daylight. Anime fans were generally disappointed by how the "Tokyo Ghoul" season 2 strayed away from the original manga.

Nonetheless, amid the negative anticipations about the delay of the "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3, several reports are claiming that the show producers are just taking their time to enhance the upcoming season 3. Others suggest that the delay of the TV show does not mean that it will no longer be released, Entertainment News Access reported.

That being said, the TV series follows Ken Kaneki's story who barely survives an encounter with an evil creature, ghoul. Then, Kaneki is transformed into a half-ghoul and must conform with the new world that he is required to inhabit. Although ghouls mingle with modern society, but they are craving for human flesh, Inquirer reported.

The series debuted in September 2011 and the sequel started serialization in October of 2014. An anime adaptation was aired on July 2014 until September 2014. A second series aired in January 2015 and ran through March 2015.
