Fans of the series of epic fantasy novels, A Song of Ice and Fire, may need to wait longer for George R. R. Martin's forthcoming sixth novel, The Winds of Winter. The release date of The Winds of Winter is said to be delayed once again considering the author's busy schedule.

Book fanatics are anticipating that the famous American novelist George RR Martin has already done writing the sixth novel, but Martin has a lot of projects at the moment. It has been said that the popular short-story writer has launched a foundation dedicated to enhancing the skills of aspiring movie and TV producers in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Poor Primadonna reported.

Nonetheless, The Winds of Winter is Martin's upcoming sixth book in the series. The previous installment, dubbed as A Dance with Dragons, was unleashed in July 2011. The long gap between the two book releases have led to enthusiasts' increased clamor for news and updates, especially given that the "Game of Thrones" TV adaptation has already outstripped the storyline of the novels.

In spite of that, the prestigious novelist stated that The Winds of Winter book still requires enough time to cook up a good finale. Another factor Martin considered for The Winds of Winter book delay is his growing age. Writing a book is never the same when Martin was younger as he gets exhausted easily with his age. Eventually, the longer The Winds of Winter book takes, the more the book will be thought of to get a better ending, CeleBeat reported.

During Martin's interview, the writer stated that he has much to do and the days go by so quickly. Martin also said that the harder he work, the further behind he will get. Nevertheless, it has been anticipated that Martin will launch The Winds of Winter book on his 70th birthday on Sept. 20, 2018.
