Johnny Manziel has drawn comparisons to the likes of Tim Tebow, Russell Wilson and even Joe Montana for a highlight reel of a college career, but the team drafting first overall may be internally split on him.

According to "trusted sources" of SportsOnEarth.com, Houston Texans' head coach Bill O'Brien does not think Manziel has the intangibles and work ethic of a franchise quarterback. Bob McNair, the team's owner, is sold on Manziel and has voiced his opinion that he should be the Texans' pick.

The sources also said the Texans may also be weighing the possibility of drafting UCF's Blake Bortles or South Carolina's Jadeveon Clowney. Bortles is a prototypical quarterback at six-foot-four with little mobility and a strong arm. Clowney is a freak-of-nature athlete who has been compared to Julius Peppers in terms of an elite pass rusher in the making. He would also wreak havoc on opposing passers lining up opposite J.J. Watt.

Still, the media attention paid him combined with scrutiny toward his unorthodox style of play has been compared to Tebow. His skill set and height are very similar to Wilson's and one unnamed scout even said his ability to make spectacular improvised plays is reminiscent of Montana.

Mel Kiper, ESPN's NFL Draft expert, has previously said on-air that Manziel is actually the most likely QB to be drafted in the first five picks. Even though at least three of the first five teams drafting need a quarterback, those teams seem ready to pass on Teddy Bridgewater and Bortles to fill other needs.

Manziel, a native of Tyler, Tex., almost did not end up at Texas A&M University, playing for the Aggies. According to Fox News, one of Mack Brown's assistants at Texas begged the coach to make an offer to Manziel. Brown passed on the QB who was listed as a "three-star" recruit by Rivals.

Manziel then orally committed to Oregon at the same time Marcus Mariota did. Thanks to the urging of an assistant, Manziel ended up at A&M, arriving one year ahead of Kevin Sumlin.

McNair is likely under a lot of pressure from fans and other front office executives to keep Manziel in Texas where he will certainly be accepted as the new face of the franchise.
