Google Pixel 2 will launch in 2H 2017 and the specs have become the talk in town. Google's premium flagship is about to get major revamps as the screen will sport an OLED display, the optics will pack more pixels and the USB C port will reportedly be added in the phone.

With Google reportedly signing a mega contract with LG display for OLED panel supply, it can be argued that the next Pixel phone will get a different display technology. The $880 strategic investment is a pretty impressive figure and that should give a strong hint to the fans, what kind of smartphone, the Google Pixel 2 will be.

The Pixel phone is touted as the best camera phone. When the Google Pixel 2 comes out this year, the company will still make the optics as the hottest selling point. Google could be equipping the device with a better video recording ability and much revamped lens, The Quint reported.  

With the iPhone 7 Plus sporting dual-lens camera, Google could consider the module for its upcoming Pixel 2. A few Pixel users claimed to have audio problem with their phones and it is plausible that Google will make a few tweaks to prevent the issue from happening to its successor. Additionally, Google could be switching to USB type C port as this is one of the golden rules in today's smartphone, Forbes reported.

Another decent benefit to expect from Google Pixel 2 is the dust and water resistant chassis. It would be a great feature addition for the handset if it is IP68 certified. HTC might still supply the manpower for Google to manufacture the Pixel 2 and many fans hope that it will be a refined smartphone - more than just a successor.

What is more important is that the rumored OLED display will make the Google Pixel 2 visually stunning. It will have a similar design to the current Samsung Galaxy S series. However, all of the specifications are to be taken with a grain of salt until the official revealing in August confirms everything.
