Remember Google Nexus 6P? The Android-powered smartphone that been developed by Google with hardware support from Huawei. Today, Google is about to face one of the toughest challenges of its smartphone business, a potential lawsuit regarding Nexus 6P's premature shutdown and bootloop issues.

Reports said that the US-based law firm Chimicles & Tikellis has been working very hard whether it should open a potential class action lawsuit against the Mountain View-based tech company. The lawsuit relates to reports of an early shutdown and bootlooping issues, two major problems that currently plaguing Google Nexus 6P, the Hot Hardware reported.

According to the law firm, consumers are reporting a battery issue that causes the phone to shutdown despite the power indicator still showing anywhere from 10 to 60 percent of battery charge left. The law firm is currently inviting affected users of the Google Nexus 6P to contact them through the form on their website

Reports said that the early shutdown issue has something to do with the reported bug in Android 7.0 Nougat. But Google claims that users who already downgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow also continued to experience the power issue.

The second issue, the bootlooping issue is a classic case of bootloop concerns that has already heard on LG's devices, but the latest bootloop story is about the Huawei-made Google Nexus 6P. Currently, there still no reported solution for the bootloop issue as none of the software fixes like wiping data or resetting the system work. For this, Google has decided to shifts this issue on the hardware company Huawei, however, the Chinese company fires back saying that the Nexus 6P issue is purely a software issue.

Google is said to be aware of the Nexus 6P problems, with both the bootloop and early shutdown issues listed on the company's issue tracker but the issues bear with low priority tag and with no reported solution in sight. Additionally, Google also blamed the issue on the hardware side and pushed consumers to seek warranty coverage from the Chinese hardware company Huawei, claiming that it is not a software problem.

In other Google Nexus 6P-related news, Google has just started to roll out the final Android Nougat 7.1.2 firmware update for Google Nexus 6P users. The Android Nougat 7.1.2 update, which just came in 26 MB in size, bring a number of improvements and key bug fixes on board. The update has reportedly addressed key issues, including fixed the annoying audio cracking issue experienced by some users when the smartphone's speaker was played at high volumes, the Tech2 reported.

In addition to a number of improvements and bug fixes, the latest update also comes with some performance and stability improvements. Meanwhile, Android users who updated their smartphones initially were also being offered another OTA (over-the-air) update that led them back to the Android beta build.

First introduced in September 2015, Google Nexus 6P has replaced the Nexus 6 as the flagship smartphone device of the company's Nexus lines. The device is also the first Nexus phone that Google has chosen to co-develop with the hardware giant Huawei. The Google Nexus 6P, along with sibling Nexus 5, have served as launch devices for the Google's Android 6.0 "Marshmallow.
