Elon Musk is certainly the busiest man in tech with industries spanning through space exploration, speed carriers and inconceivable projects like the Hyperloop and his bizarre tunnel ideas. But no matter how busy this man is, there is still more innovation coming out of the blue.

This tech madman has taken to Twitter the announcement of his new project: The Tesla Semi Truck. The truck is also known as "Big Rig" is a battery-powered wagon. This project clearly shows Musk's master plan to shift the human world to sustainable energy, Wired reported.

According to his Twitter handle @elonmusk, the Tesla Semi Truck is set for unveiling this September 2017. He noted that their team was able to do an amazing job which makes the truck significantly the next big thing.

Moreover, Elon Musk's dream of producing this kind of truck is a product of his disdain in using hybrids and range-extended electrics like the ones used in Chevrolet Volt. From this, he was able to create an easier way to produce such vehicles compared to the conventional ones.

At one point, Elon Musk did not originate the idea of producing semis and trailers that hauls much bigger battery packs. Nikola Motor Company was the first outlet to venture in this production.

The body of this semi truck is essentially the same as a pair of two long rails that would sit the battery back behind the back. Elon Musk's version will ditch the internal combustion engine and will save more space. In addition, the smaller motors will be easily accessible on either each axle or each wheel.

Furthermore, the electric motors provide a wider array of torque for improved acceleration and pull power. Meanwhile, slinging the battery and motors between the frame rails will lower the center of gravity which can improve the handling.

The Big Rig's neater packaging increases aerodynamic efficiency that congestions more range from the battery. Few drawbacks are mentioned but they are better left alone for now.
