The on-going console battle between Microsoft and Sony has been heated up by the release of Xbox Project Scorpio which counters the PlayStation 4 Pro. Now that Microsoft has laid its ace for 2017, the next four to five years will be more exciting as Xbox Two and PlayStation 5 are set to release by then.

PlayStation 5 (PS5)

An interesting feature is believed to land in the next PlayStation console. Photorealism is reportedly going closer to PS5 where real photograph are taken and translated into another medium which is considered as a big leap for gaming industry, PlayStation Universe reported.

However, according to a developer from Grip-Digital Jakub Mikyska, although Sony has the capability to bring photorealism to PS5, it is not likely to happen anytime soon. Mikyska even relates photorealism to a moving target that moves away when chased.

Mikyska also added that there's still a lot of room for improvement for PS5 and they have not reach the point of rendering offline film yet. Nevertheless, Michael Pachter of Wedbush Morgan Industries presumes that PS5 will hit the store shelves in 2020.

Xbox Two

The recently announced Xbox Scorpio spills out an idea on what Xbox Two should be from specs to features to price. However, it is also believed that Xbox Two will be a complete reboot of the original Xbox, which was released ahead of PS2, Expert Reviews reported.

On the other hand, since Microsoft is said to release Xbox Two in 2018, Xbox Scorpio will be the public's apple of the eye today. Three of the most notable features and specs of the console include disc-based gaming, 4K and VR-enabled AMD Polaris-based GPU.

Meanwhile, Microsoft has not revealed the final name of the console but reports suggest that it will be just Xbox Scorpio, dropping the "One". Xbox One Elite and Xbox One Pro also made it to the list of name suggestions.
