While Google is updating the Android 7.1.2 Nougat on Nexus 6P device, a few users took Twitter to address to public of their battery issues.

It is not news anymore that Nexus 6P battery often suffers from battery drain problem. It almost as if Google has neglected the device especially when Pixel 2 launch is just months away. One of the complaints mentioned about battery shut down when it was still showing 15 percent left. The worst happened to a user named Cara Leigh where her Nexus 6P suddenly shut down when the battery is still 90 percent. Another user claimed that his Nexus 6P is rebooting although he had done factory reset, according to Twitter.

It seems that the problem has persisted long ago. In December, a few Nexus 6P users had to replace the draining battery. Thousands of owners had reportedly filed for the similar complaint ever since they upgraded the device to Android Nougat, AndroidPit reported.

That being said, tech crowds are questioning Google's intention on the device. There is even a speculation that Google is retiring the old smartphone to focus on the Pixel successor. The Pixel handsets are incredibly great on the camera department. It also delivers the same pure Android experience as Nexus 6P. However, Pixel is a pricey phone and the Pixel 2 is surely to be more expensive.

On the other hand, tech experts still look up to Nexus 6P as a capable Android smartphone although it is no longer available at the official stores.  Nexus 6P receives minor update that comes with Android 7.1.2 Nougat. It adds fingerprint swipe feature which was initially available on the Pixel phones.  Additionally, Google rolls out battery usage alerts along with other improvements.
