Huawei Mate 9 is taking the next leap for its propriety EMUI compatibility with Google Android Oreo update. Further details of the testing reveal that the Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer has brought a new model of Mate 9 and its unannounced EMUI 5.1.

Huawei's effort to check Android O in its Mate 9 has shown several pointers that the said operating system is still far from being rolled out. The XDA Developers claimed that the test also found out that the initial Android O version is still missing some key features and its language support is limited to only English and Mandarin, AndroidHeadlines reported.

In addition, the Android O software also lacks eRecovery and Huawei's System Update app. However, the report noted that Huawei Mate 9 testing result is as surprising as it seems since the O version is made for initial internal testing.

Thus, the Android O tested is not the one to be released for public roll out. The said Huawei Mate 9 model's code to take the test is MHA-AL00C00B007-log.

Moreover, this C00B007 code seemed to confirm a new Huawei device or the refurbished tier of Mate 9 pioneering in Android O software. In addition, it also hints the debut of the highly-anticipated EMUI 5.1 (no proper name yet).

Also shown in the Huawei Mate 9 testing images is the new picture-to-picture feature exclusive to Android O. The O update is expected to deliver a total revamp on Google's operating system like new features, changes, and optimization.

Meanwhile, a new blog post has detailed new Android O improvements that allow users a full control in use of identifiers. In Android Oreo, Android ID (Settings.Secure.ANDROID_ID or SSAID) will have a different value for each app and each user on the device. It will not change the uninstall/reinstall as long as the packaging remains the same, AndroidDevelopers blogged.

Can't you wait for the Android O update?
