Google Pixel 2 could be on their way as Google has accidentally confirmed the existence of the 2017 iteration of their premium phones through an automated update bot which coincides with revelation of the company's hardware VP. On this regard, Pixel phones price is expected to drop soon.

Google Pixel 2 Under Development

Last month, reports suggest that Google is working on a super-sized device which everyone suspects the project "Taimen". This time, the search giant has accidentally confirmed models which are only about the size of a normal smartphone.

Codenames "Muskie" and "Walleye" have been spotted by a media team from Android Open Source Project. Accordingly, the media team discovered about Google's automated update bot called Treehugger from the AOSP which indicates changes, Forbes reported.

This fresh detail coincides with Google's Hardware VP Rick Osterloh's statement about the 2017 iteration of Pixel phones with an indefinite release date but October 2017 strongly suggest a possibility. Google Pixel 2 is expected to have an improved camera specifically with new added features.

Furthermore, Google Pixel 2 is also expected to be powered by the latest Qualcomm chipset Snapdragon 835 which supports gigabit LTE though some reports claim that it will have Google's proprietary mobile chipset. Ditching the headphone jack also represents another possibility, Learn Bonds reported.

To sum it up, Google is expected to release Pixel 2 (5.8-inch, Muskie), Pixel 2 XL (6.2-inch, Walleye) and Chromebook Pixel 3 hybrid this 2017. The next-gen smartphones are said to counter the newly released Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus.   

Google Pixel Phones Price Drop

Usually, when a new model is tipped to launched, the predecessor's price drops. Such is the case that's expected to happen to Google Pixel and Pixel XL phones which is currently available in a premium price of $600 and $720, respectively.

But in the absence of Google's formal confirmation on Pixel 2 phones' existence, the price of Pixel phones will remain the same. Meanwhile, consumers are advised to wait for the announcement from the search giant.
