The absence of Nexus 7 2017 iteration, fans starts to wonder about the possibility of still having one in the coming months. For this reason, they insist that Google should retire older versions of the tablet and take time to focus on the 2017 model which is once presumed as the "Project Taimen".

Last week, Google has started rolling out Android 7.1.2 Nougat to Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player and Pixel C tablet which includes new recent apps screen and bug fixes. However, the update is no longer available for download for Nexus 6, Nexus 9 as well as Nexus 7, Ars Technica reported.

Netizens insist that Google should retire the older versions of Nexus 7 tablet and focus on the development of its 2017 version. But since Google has not spoken up anything about the successor, fans keep their silence.

However, talks about Google Pixel 2 (Walleye) and Pixel 2 XL (Murkie) have been going around the internet recently. It also includes few details about a third device which is referred to as "Taimen" which is considered to be the biggest among of them.

In relation to that, fans hope that the said device could be the Nexus 7 they are waiting for since 2016. The device is expected to be packed with high-performing specs that contribute to the device's excellent performance, Geek Reply reported.

Since innovation and revolution is Google's main purpose for their new hardwares, the presumed Google Nexus 7 (2017) will be powered by the fastest mobile chipset available in the market, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 coupled with 6GB or 8GB of RAM.

To recall, Nexus 7 (2017) is reportedly running an Andromeda OS; however, since Google revealed the uncertain fate of the said operating system, the device is expected to run Android 8 or "Oreo" instead. The device is believed to hit the store shelves this year alongside the new Pixel phones.
