AMD Ryzen 5 1600 has taken the lead over Intel Core i7-7700K in a recent review conducted by Elchapuzas Informatico. The said tier has gained a slight advantage over Intel's whose prices are notably at far foothold. AMD Ryzen 5 1600 is being hailed as the second strongest processor among AMD's multi-threaded CPU lineup which is slated for their official launching on April 11.

According to ElchapuzasInformatico, the memories are positioned at 2400 MHz prior to the test calculations since uploading them in another ASRock seemed impossible by then. In addition, the reviewers used two modules because using four modules stops at 2133 MHz.and fails to meet 2400 MHz mark.

Moreover, AMD Ryzen 5 1600 slightly won the first place in DOOM Vulkan and Battlefield 1 (DX12) against the more powerful tier, Ryzen 7 and Intel Core i7-7700K. On the contrary, Intel has shown better performance with only four physical cores and eight threads versus AMD Ryzen 5 1600's six cores and 12 threads. In addition, the AMD CPU is available for only $219 on Newegg compared to the Intel processor which price soars up to $350, Forbes noted.

In another test, AMD Ryzen 5 1600 is shown to be slightly ahead of the Intel counterpart in video encoding performance based on x264 benchmark. In Cinebench R15 rendering test, AMD Ryzen 5 did not only top with 1,123 score, it also overclocked the Intel CPU to 4.9GHz. The reviewers were able to get a frequency of 3.9GHz using a CPU voltage of just 1.3V, which is 700MHz above its base frequency of 3.2GHz, Forbes added.

This means AMD Ryzen 5 1600 dominates Intel's Core i7-6850K which is basically its actual match in the 6-core/12-thread tier. Excelling in most of the benchmark test and boasting a lower price tag, AMD Ryzen 5 is surely the best alternative for users who essentially deal with multi-threaded work
