Apple promises a whole lot better iMac later this year as an internal source has confirmed the desktop configuration.The iMac 2017 will be powered by Intel Xeon processor, a pro-grade chipset that packs a punch. Xeon E3-1280 V6 series is reportedly being considered as the processor along with the company's HD graphics P630.

It seems that Apple does not neglect the iMac lineup at all. The new iMac will be VR-ready as it will cater creative professionals. Thus, an AMD GPU, better than Radeon R9 is expected. This corroborates the previous leak that claims to learn that AMD sealed the deal with Apple,  MacWorld reported.

The familiar source spills another interesting feature of the iMac 2017, saying that the next desktop machine will contain 16GB RAM configurable up to 64GB. To put into perspective, the current base model has 8GB upgradable up to 32GB.

Apple reportedly designs a brand new keyboard for the iMac 2017 and it would be exciting to find MacBook's Touch Bar there. However, there is no word on the redesigned keyboard but experts have come to believe that Apple will include wireless feature.

Details are still scarce but reports have constantly pointed at Apple developing an 8K display for its future iMac. This would add more punch to the high end computing machine as the current 5K Retina is already a beast.However, journalists have learned from Phill Schiller that Apple will not launch any touchscreen display for iMac or MacBook Pro as it is reportedly not that useful and not a good strategy since it would mean redesigning the configuration.

Nonetheless, the iMac 2017 will sport Thunderbolt 3 connection albeit no specific amount is reported. This is based on the feature that appears on the MacBook Pro 2016. The same informant also mentions an October release date for iMac 2017, Trusted Reviews reported.
