Google was expected to launch two Pixel 2 smartphones until another codename appears. It seems that there will be the third variant that complements the standard models.

Google could go big in everything for the Pixel successor. Taimen could be as huge as 6 inches. This is merely a speculation but a few evidences have indicated that the company is preparing a bigger screen model for the Pixel 2. Apple and Samsung launched bigger iPhone and Galaxy S models respectively and it will be no surprise to see Google following the same path, Forbes reported.

The Pixel is a camera-focused smartphone. It sports superb quality in the optics department, thus, Google will likely to make a few tweaks and add more pixels to the upcoming flagship. Meanwhile, Samsung's AI assistant, Bixby, has proven to be extremely smart as it is able to give more advices and contextual information, better than Google Assistant.

While Google will have its own rules, there is no reason not to look for a 'role model' as an inspiration to create a cleverer voice assistant. The Pixel phone has a fingerprint reader mounted on the rear panel. This time, Google could move the scanner to the front for convenience sake.

A recent render appeared on Chinese online publication, Anzhuo, shows off a sleek, all-glass design with a slimmer dimension, plus super thin bezels. It is plausible for Google to equip the handset with a dust and water resistant material. In addition to that, Google will reportedly launch the Pixel 2 with two different processors. This is due to a recent leak that suggests Google developing its own chipset, according to Firstpost.

What become of "Walleye", "Muskie" and "Taimen" is anyone guess but the removal and re-appearance of those codenames strongly hint at important information about the impending Pixel 2.
