The impending Google Pixel 2 is yet to be considered as Samsung Galaxy S8's biggest competitor in 2017 flagship smartphone battle. Big screen, improved Google Assistant, large storage, camera features and long-lasting battery are highly anticipated from the next Google-made hardware.

Several reports about Google Pixel 2 are circulating the internet today which reveal unconfirmed features and specs of the new device. However, since the first Pixel phones are part of Google's strategy to compete with other high-end smartphones in the market, Pixel 2 is said to be Galaxy S8's biggest rival.

In relation to that, Google Pixel 2 must showcase an improved design that deviates the previous model's bland looks. Google should eliminate old-fashion and traditional taste and consider curved, OLED screens and slim bezels, E-Week reported.

Google should go on big screen for Pixel 2 and 6-inch smartphone is a good idea. Fingerprint sensor in the middle of the rear panel or integrated in the screen display and upgraded Google Assistant in response to Samsung's Bixby are also required.

To be able to attract photographers and videographers, Google Pixel 2 should offer free cloud-based storage or 128GB internal storage. Improved smartphone camera features that exceed Samsung and LG camera updates should also be added.

Smartphones with long battery life are every consumers' dream; thus, Google Pixel 2 must be backed with big and efficient battery pack. However, modifications to Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor is the key towards winning the power battle.

Price is also a critical factor when consumers choose a smartphone. For this matter, Google should consider putting Pixel 2 in a justifiable price range which makes $600 more ideal than the $720 Galaxy S8 purchase through Verizon.

Lastly, running Android O in Google Pixel out-of-the-box is an advantage. Google is widely known for rolling out Android beta to Pixel and Nexus phones on-time just like what it did to Android 7.1.2 Nougat which is currently available for download via OTA, 9 to 5 Google reported.
