Recently surfaced reports claim that Microsoft will be holding a product launch event in Spring 2017. Nonetheless, the Surface Book 2 announcement might not be a part of it.

The Redmond, Washington based tech titan usually organizes a product launch event for Spring. Nevertheless, Microsoft to announce the highly anticipated Surface Book 2 is unlikely to happen, according to ZDNet. Sources are claiming that the tech giant will launch other hardwares instead.

On the contrary, several reports are claiming that Microsoft's next-generation Surface Book has already entered mass production, and the shipments of the device are believed to increase every month, DigiTimes reported. The Microsoft Surface Book 2 release date will transpire sometime during the end of March or in April.

In spite of that, once the Microsoft Surface Book 2 hits the market, the high-performance laptop computer is expected to be priced somewhere around $1,000. The new Surface Book price tag will be remarkably lower than the existing 2-in-1 laptop model that cost from $1,499 to $3,199. It has been said that the remarkably low price of the Microsoft Surface Book 2 is due to a limited demand that the product line experienced.

The Microsoft Surface Book 2 is also expected to roll out alongside the much awaited Microsoft Surface Pro 5 that comes along with an upgraded screen that supports the 4K UltraHD resolution. Meanwhile, other Microsoft Surface Book 2 features remain under wraps. Rumor has it that Microsoft's upcoming high-performance laptop computer will accompany a VR-ready 4K display as well as a full VR capabilities

Also, the Microsoft Surface Book 2 is said to be packed with a 13.5-inch display (3,840 x 2,160 resolution), a clamshell design and a magnesium-aluminium alloy body. The upcoming Microsoft Surface Book 2 will likely sports an Intel Kaby Lake chipset and an improved design. Microsoft is expected to announce the full details of Surface Book 2 soon.
