Computex 2017 will surely be dominated by gaming PCs and laptops as previous events have been so experts predict that big brands like Asus with its home turf in Taiwan alongside Acer and Dell to participate. Moreover, the May 29 to June 3 event may be bringing more GPU demos of AMD RX Vega, Intel's Skylake-X and NVIDIA partners' versions of the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti.

The event will have its U.S. press conference on April 4 at 10 a.m. PT where organizer Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) president and CEO Walter Yeh will reveal the Computex 2017's positioning and theme. Last year, the prevailing themes were on "Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotics" as well as "gaming and Virtual Reality (VR)." Moreover, Yeh will provide more details on the upcoming exhibits, events and main exhibitors, Business Wire reported. For now, there are some insightful predictions on what the industry professionals and watchers can expect in the coming event.

Computex 2017 will most likely have Asus, which is based in Taiwan but instead of big product launches like last year's, there may only be a mid-life refresh on its ZenBook. The likelihood of getting a ZenBook 4 is slim since the ZenBook 3 just launched so in its stead will be improved models particularly on battery life. Meanwhile, Acer also based in Taiwan is expected to unveil some gaming laptops after debuting its professional grade monitors and business laptops in a special event in April last year. Dell after a big launch of its XPS laptops in CES may be having a few minor launches as well.

AMD may once again substantially use Computex 2017, dubbed as its "bread and butter" for the past years, according to Trusted Reviews. The AMD Radeon RX Vega teased as "just around the corner" may mean two more months of waiting when Computex opens on May 29. The GPU showdown will also have Intel to unveil its Skylake-X chips that succeeded its Broadwell-E. Meanwhile, NVIDIA is also expected to make a splash but this time by NVIDIA's partners like Gigabyte, MSI, and Asus bringing their own versions of the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti.

Microsoft is also expected to showcase its Creators Update particularly its VR capabilities, touchscreen features, and streaming functionalities. ARM will also make its contribution to mobile gaming and VR. Other than gaming PCs, Computex 2017 will also feature an extensive array of non-branded products for both mainstream and the most hardcore industry professionals. TAITRA may once again feature some interesting new companies and startups that will one day set industry trends.
