Google Nexus 7 leaks and tips suggest that a new, revamped model is coming soon alongside the Pixel 2 phones.

Is Google Nexus 7 the bigger Pixel 2 phone?

There have been a few reports that could indicate a Nexus 7 tablet iteration launch this year. Several notable media outlets have come to believe that Taimen is the codename for Google's Andromeda-powered tablet, Nexus 7. Furthering the details, reports pointed out a Snapdragon 835 chipset and a whopping 6 GB are expected on board, GeekReply has learned. 

Reputable sources like Forbes, have noted that Google opted for manpower from HTC to manufacture the Pixel. Hence, it is safe to assume that the Pixel 2 devices could likely be another partnership effort between both or more parties.

Another piece of evidence coming from The Verge suggests that Nexus is a widely-recognized device in the world with great Android ecosystem and Google could still use the brand for the upcoming tablet. Judging from these valid reasons, it can be argued that the other Pixel device Google's currently working on, could actually be a Nexus 7 2017.

Will Nexus 7 2017 run on Andromeda OS?

It is interesting to find out whether the Nexus 7 tablet will indeed run a new operating system, Andromeda. However, there is no single, solid evidence that could corroborate the existence of Andromeda OS. Moreover, the only thing about Andromeda that we've heard, is the Andromeda Box Platform hardware, not a software.

Nonetheless, fans can still expect a powerful Google tablet that may be pitted against the iPad Pro 2 or the Surface Pro 5 that are rumored to launch this year. The Nexus 7 2017 release date is still uncertain but Google launched Pixel phones in Q4 2016, thus, the same timeframe is expected for the Pixel 2 unveiling.
