Google starts rolling out Android 7.1.2 second beta to various Nexus and Pixel phones, namely, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, Pixel, Pixel XL and Pixel C. The 7.1.2 update has started seeding to eligible devices that have signed up to Android Beta Program.

The latest Android Nougat MR2 (7.1.2) update arrives for Nexus 6P units with the NPG47I build and will only bring minor updates to other supported models, Android Police reported. However, since this is a pre-release update and still in beta, it may contain defects and errors that may affect the current status of some devices.

Android 7.1.2 beta update is further explained in Android website and downloadable at 194.6MB. Moreover, Android Nougat MR2 will bring an all new Multitasking feature, the latest Pixel Launcher, new Navigation Bar Icons and Fingerprint Scanner Gesture, XDA Developers added.

The said multitasking feature from Android Nougat MR2 (7.1.2) will show a larger card view of the recently opened apps ditching its trademark carousel motion. In addition, these applications can now be opened in multi-window view mode by a simple movement of the card handle to one side of the screen.

On the other hand, some Pixel C users said that the update brought a new Pixel Launcher which is noticeably different from those of Pixel and Pixel XL. This latest Pixel launcher is installed as a system app which has been optimized for tablets.

Meanwhile, Android 7.1.2 has made a unified design across the Pixel devices which has been previously noted to have differences in their system look. Lastly, the Nougat 7.1.2 is Google's answer its fans' clamor for fingerprint swipe gesture when accessing the notification tray. Users can found the toggle just under the "Moves" area in the application setting.

For those who ask for Android 7.1.2 manual updates, it is advised to wait until the system image page gets updated.
