The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is expected to go all out after the Note 7 fiasco for the South Koreans to recover its tarnished image and recapture its market. For this reasons, the Note 8 could be the first phablet to have a 4K Super AMOLED display and may feature the first full adaptation of Samsung's new Pressure-Sensitive technology, which is just like Apple's 3D Touch but better.

The South Koreans are expected to release a successor to the ill-fated Note 7 and it is expected to make a big splash this year. Samsung will not only be unveiling its flagship Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus but also the Note 8, which is expected to feature major hardware upgrades. The new phablet may arrive sometime in August, which will give the South Koreans at least a month's headstart to the iPhone 8 which is reported to be unveiled in September.

The PC Advisor rounded up some noteworthy rumors on the expected specs and features of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 starting with a 4K Super AMOLED display and not the Quad-HD+ as initially reported. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 may be the first 4K smartphone and with a beefier resolution comes a larger and safer battery that Samsung promised. As the Samsung Galaxy S8 goes big, the Note 8 codenamed "great" may also go for a bigger display, upgrading from 5.7-in. to 6.2-in with slimmer bezels. Unlike the S8, it will keep the dual lens camera at its rear with 16MP and 8MP sensors respectively plus it may have a curved edge screen.

Meanwhile, the most recent report on the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 features another first for the much-anticipated phablet. The device may feature the very first full adaptation of Samsung's latest patented technology, the Pressure-Sensitive display. The new technology pertains to the touchscreen's ability to respond to commands based on different degrees of force applied to the screen. This is similar to Apple's 3D Touch and the one used in Huawei P9 in 2015 but with a higher sensitivity and a more extensive array of pressure-sensing capabilities as reported in The Investor, a South Korean publication.

Samsung Display is actually manufacturing OLED displays for the iPhone and Apple may have made the request that the South Koreans were able to perfect. The feature is expected to be featured in the iPhone and the Samsung Galaxy S8 but with limitations like only for the virtual home button. It will be the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 which will have the first full implementation of Samsung's new technology for its entire display.
